Art Quilts

A quilt of any size in which a technique or combination of techniques or materials are used in a non-traditional way.  This MUST be an original design, NOT a pattern or kit.

Chairman’s Choice

A quilt in which no side measures less than 60” and uses 1930’s original or reproduction fabrics.  Background fabric need not be 30’s fabric.

Kits /

Block-of-the-month

A quilt of any size in which the patterns and fabrics have been packaged as a kit or unit for retail sale

Group/Friendship

A quilt made by a group of three or more persons

Mixed Techniques

A quilt that is approximately 50% pieced and 50% appliquéd, or 50% pieced and 50% embroidered; or any combination of the three techniques.

Other Techniques

Any quilt, such as rag quilt, yo-yo, cathedral window, crazy quilt, wholecloth, redwork, chenille, etc. that does not fit into other categories.

Garments

Items of clothing that include a recognizable amount of patchwork, appliqué, and/or quilting.

Juniors

A quilt made by someone 17 years of age or younger, either a group or individual effort.  These quilts will not be judged.
